Training Classes

From the moment they’re born, puppies certainly are adorable. Unfortunately, while they may be born with good looks, they aren’t born with manners. It’s important to train your young pet as soon as possible to help instill good behavior if they are going to become an integral part of your family. Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic can help develop your pup into a well-mannered adult dog in no time with our professional puppy training classes.

Our classes focus on the three most important factors in puppy behavior: socialization, leadership, and basic commands. The lessons are led by registered veterinary technicians that have experience in canine behavior and know how to achieve real, permanent results. Don’t let your puppy control the dynamics within your home. Get them the training they need to become a balanced, well behaved member of the family.

Some of the behaviors we can help your puppy overcome once and for all include:

  • Chewing
  • Barking
  • Biting
  • Digging
  • House Training Problems
  • And More…

Let us help you to understand the reasons why your puppy exhibits these nuisance behaviors, and then develop the tools and skills you need to establish your position of leadership in your puppy’s life. In addition to overcoming your pup’s negative behaviors, we’ll also teach your companion several common, basic commands, such as:

  • Sit
  • Stay
  • Come
  • Down
  • Heel

Training classes are available for puppies age 16 weeks or younger, and are held in four 1 hour sessions. During these classes, you will learn how to correct and reinforce your pet’s basic obedience and good manners. You’ll also begin to build a more solid bond with your pet.

For the safety of everyone, all puppies participating in training classes must be current on their vaccinations, including kennel cough, prior to attending classes. All puppies must also be leashed – before, during and after class time.

We are also pleased to have Cristi Semmler Photography available to take portraits of our Puppy Class Graduates! If you’ve just adopted a new four-legged friend, do yourself and your pooch a favor and enroll them in our puppy classes. You’ll both benefit from the experience for many years to come!
